Orange County Product Managers
November Mixer and Discussion
Come out and meet other local product management and product marketing professionals in a very different and casual setting. Beer, wine, soft drinks, sandwiches and snacks will be served.
This month's mixer is going to be special. We're meeting at The Buddy Group's fun and unusual facility in Irvine. Just the site tour makes this event worth attending. But we don't stop there!
We will also have an outstanding panel discussion on the digitization of product marketing and the product manager's role in it.
Register today as space is limited!
The Digitization of Product Marketing (and the Product Manager's Role In It)
Advances in web-based technology are changing the way companies disseminate, collect and share information. Old paradigms of product marketing are being replaced by cheaper, faster, more targeted and more interactive models. It’s no longer about what you say to the market that drives your brand. The market now dictates your true brand and it’s imperative that product marketers and product managers are engaged in capturing and steering perceptions about their products.
Nimble marketing departments are using fresh tools and techniques to influence and capture the voice-of-market. Companies that are able to harness and direct what's being said about their products and marketing campaigns and quickly react to market sentiment will become the new leaders in their industry as a new economy emerges. What role should the product manager play in this ongoing engagement with consumers?
We have put together a panel of experts who are living in the new paradigm. They cover both the inbound and outbound aspects of the new digital marketing world. From this discussion, you will take away practical insights that you can use to improve your products and your market share.
Alan Edgett – Senior Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation at Experian Consumer Direct
With more than 13 years experience working in online marketing and strategy, Alan leads new product innovation and tactics for partner marketing channels of Experian’s FreeCreditReport.com. He is also responsible for establishing social media strategies that build community and advance company branding initiatives. He can be followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/ACEdge
Rebekah King – Principal of Rebiz Works, "Social Media Maven"
Rebekah King is what happens when an artist and a businessman marry and have kids. Growing up with the marketing flair and creative streak from her mother's side, and taking it to job-sites with her dad as early as 8 years old, Rebekah's multiple personality disorder has led her down a very unique career path. From TV and radio to e-commerce and print media, she's worked on a variety of projects. The real joy for Rebekah comes when she gets to support her customers as they work to print less and reach more. She can be followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/rebekah_king

With the downturn in the U.S. housing industry, Prashant has shifted James Hardie’s marketing focus from print to nearly 100% digital. He works closely with the Product and Segment managers to create campaigns to reach fragmented customers using the new digital tools available.
